Trading model
Structured physical trading, with the role and risk allocation made clear.
Depending on the transaction, Moorgate Metals may act as principal, trading intermediary or commercial coordinator. The contracting entity, title transfer, payment obligations and documentary responsibilities are stated in the contract.
Commercial mandate
Confirm a credible supply offer or buyer requirement and establish authority to engage.
Counterparty diligence
Review registration, ownership, site, trade capability, sanctions exposure, origin and references.
Specification & pricing
Agree grade, basis price, LME-linked formula where relevant, deductions, quantity tolerance and validity.
Contract & payment
Set the contracting entity, Incoterm, title/risk transfer, documentary payment structure and claims process.
Inspection & logistics
Coordinate the agreed inspection scope, loading evidence, shipping documents and destination requirements.
Settlement & review
Complete settlement against agreed triggers, resolve discrepancies and assess suitability for repeat volume.
Payment structures
Many of our buyer relationships prefer documentary letters of credit. The final mechanism may include an irrevocable LC at sight or another mutually agreed documentary structure, subject to counterparty, bank, jurisdiction, shipment size and contract terms. We do not present one payment route as suitable for every transaction.
