Quality & compliance
Every shipment, documented
Scrap moves across borders under a genuine regulatory burden — radiation, contamination, hazardous material and provenance. We treat the paperwork as part of the product.
At origin
- Independent pre-shipment inspection — SGS, Bureau Veritas or Alex Stewart verify grade, purity, physical contamination and tare weight at the yard, before loading.
- Radiation and explosive-free certification — every consignment carries certification that it is free of radioactive material, explosives, munitions and hazardous waste.
- Supervised stuffing — container loading is supervised and photographed, giving a traceable record of what was loaded and sealed.
- Weighbridge-certified weights — net weights are certified at origin so that arrival disputes do not arise.
At destination
- Import documentation — the full pack is prepared to the requirements of the Indian importer of record, including certificate of origin and inspection and weight certificates.
- DGFT requirements — consignments are prepared in line with current Indian policy for metallic waste and scrap, including pre-shipment inspection certification where applicable to the origin and port of discharge.
- Counterparty verification — GST and Import-Export Code are verified for Indian buyers before contracting.
Provenance
We buy only where scrap export is lawful and the chain of title can be evidenced. Several jurisdictions restrict or prohibit the export of copper scrap, and material offered from those origins is frequently of unlawful provenance. We decline it, regardless of price.
