Inspection & Quality

Quality is established through a written specification, representative evidence and an agreed determination process.

Identity

Confirm the material offered is the material inspected and loaded.

Representativeness

Sampling and visual checks should cover the lot rather than only its best surface.

Measurement

Weight, moisture, assay and recovery methods should be defined and reproducible.

Evidence

Reports, photographs, seals and retained samples support a defensible record.

Pre-shipment inspection may include

  • Quantity and lot identification
  • Visual grade and contamination assessment
  • Packaging, bale or particle-size checks
  • Sampling and assay under an agreed protocol
  • Weight verification or witness
  • Container condition, loading and sealing
  • Photographic and documentary record
Inspection does not replace a precise contract. The parties should define the inspector, scope, timing, sampling method, finality, tolerance and claims procedure before loading.
